Good things...

...happen to good people.

I must be one of them:

My Gran very kindly 'lent' me a lot of money with which to buy a new piano. Amazing!
My best friend selflessly offered to contribute whatever money is required in order that we can both make it to the SxSW festival in Texas next March, and have a bit of a road trip from New Orleans to boot. I'm still blown away by this!
Things have been playing on my mind a lot recently with regards to issues that have been circling my friends and I for what seems like forever, and i finally realized that i had the power to do something about them by simply speaking up and confronting them head on. Thus far, my honesty has had the required effect and I feel like we've all grown a lot as a result.
I haven't spoken to my family for some time. This in itself is not the good bit. The reason for this oversight is that I've been too busy having fun with all my friends to find an appropriate hour or two in the evenings to fulfil my duty as a good son/brother. I will endeavour to redress the socialising/family obligation ratio asap.
I've seen a load of great gigs recently: PJ Harvey & John Parish, Doves, Hjaltalin, Friendly Fires, and more to come this week (Michael McGoldrick tonight, Martin Simpson on thursday) then Blur in a few weeks.
This coming weekend will be the grand 30th Jamboree in the Cotswolds that my school friends and I have been planning for over a year. I can't wait to get together with everyone for a few days as there is now, sadly, very little opportunity for this, what with marriages, babies and general geographical issues that have come in to play over recent years.

Good things happen to good people only because good people happen to good people.

Amen.
